Hillclimb racing is one of the oldest forms of motorsport and perhaps the simplest one out there. Drivers race against the clock to see which is gonna reach the peak of the hill faster.
As anything related to motorsport in Cyprus outside the one and only racing track on the Island, Hillclimb events are not the most common of events. So we did not miss the opportunity to head to Limassol and shoot some cars driving up a hill.
The cars
It was interesting to see such a variation in vehicles, regarding makes and models. But only a number of vehicles where new to us since most of the cars racing today are also competing in the time attack series at achna speedway. Which we featured before in the past.
A race with a view
It certainly ain’t the Monaco GP but I would be lying If I say that I didn’t enjoy the view of Limassol fading into the sea.
On the podium
Yiannos Kapetanios was the fastest man of the day and secured the Hillclimb championship title with his victory.
Stelios Savva barely managed to beat the doctor – Avraam Avraam with his NA pulsar to take second place.
